Silvia Furmanovich is pleased to introduce a new jewelry collection that subtly bridges the gap between the East and the West. Inspired by the rich artistic heritage of regions she visited in Asia, including Japan and Thailand, the collection blends traditional techniques and materials from the East with contemporary design elements. Each piece tells a story of cultural exchange and appreciation, following a journey where ancient artistry is reimagined in innovative ways.

Drawing from the masterful craftsmanship of the East, the collection showcases the exquisite art forms of bamboo weaving, miniature painting, and new this year, lacquerware. Bamboo weaving is renowned for its durability and intricate patterns, and as part of a deeper collaboration with Japanese artisans, the material is being bent into even more complex structural forms. The delicate strokes of miniature painting, a centuries-old technique developed by artists in Udaipur in India, is used here to capture the essence of Eastern aesthetics the designer encountered during her travels.

This year, Furmanovich is introducing lacquerware into her jewelry creations. The designer visited two regions in Japan known for their longstanding traditions of lacquerware, including Kamakura and Wajima. Derived from the sap of certain trees, the material has been perfected throughout the centuries as the glossy, lustrous coating for various objects.

In addition, Furmanovich continues her exploration into her signature technique of wood marquetry realized by Amazonian artisans, to interpret the decorative, architectural and artistic elements she encountered during her travels.

This collection honors the timeless traditions of the East while embracing modern design sensibilities. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted to embody the beauty of cultural diversity, revealing jewelry that transcends borders. Throughout her journey, Furmanovich has continued to chronicle every aspect of her creative pursuits in her sketchbook, offering a window into her imagination and process.
