Celebrating the Art of Craftsmanship
Silvia Furmanovich participated in Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light, the international celebration of contemporary craftsmanship held in Venice, Italy, from September 1–30, 2026, on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore.
Rooted in a spirit of discovery and cultural exchange, Silvia Furmanovich’s practice brings together traditional craftsmanship, exceptional materials, and artistic influences from around the world, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens.
For this edition of Homo Faber, Silvia Furmanovich presented a one-of-a-kind bracelet created in collaboration with renowned Japanese lacquerware artist Onihira Keiji, as part of her ongoing partnership with Onishi Gallery. The piece brings together her distinctive approach to jewelry design and the centuries-old Japanese tradition of lacquer, celebrating the dialogue between cultures, materials, and artisanal expertise.
The presentation also included a selection of newly conceived sculptural objects, extending this creative exploration beyond jewelry into collectible design and functional art.
Through this collaboration, Silvia Furmanovich reaffirmed her commitment to preserving traditional techniques while fostering new artistic connections across cultures, creating works that honor the past while embracing contemporary expression.
