Asprey

The unique and collectible collection comprises of boxes, photo frames and vide poches using only bark and branches salvaged from the Amazon’s rain-forest floor or non-native woods left over from the local furniture industry. A proprietary system of washing and soaking the wood in water and minerals, enhancing its existing colour naturally, allows for a variety of hues that is at once earthy and bold, as well as being a fully sustainable production process. The marquetry details are created by Brazilian artisans using a lengthy process of assembling hand-cut wood veneer and expertly placing these seamlessly together into unique designs.

The theme and designs of the collection; ‘Giants of the Amazon’ was imagined by Asprey’s inhouse designers and focused on four key motifs.The large endangered ‘Blue Morpho’ butterflies, birds, and florals such as the Giant Waterlily–Victoria Amazonica, all fertile subjects of Brazil’s tropical fauna and the largest of their species living or growing in the Amazon rainforest.

The exclusive collection is completed by Asprey’s highly regarded silversmiths who handcraft the sterling silver hinged bezels and edges in the London workshops. The result of design and craft paired with the technical knowledge and expertise of the Brazilian artisans in the Silvia Furmanovich signature style, is the perfect combination, demonstrating the strengths of both houses.
