The emphasis on craftsmanship and the human connection with nature that is so essential to Silvia Furmanovich harmonizes with a set of traditions that have greatly inspired the jeweler’s work from the beginning — those of Native Americans.
The result is a collection of turquoise, coral, ruby, fire opal and tourmaline-decked natural shells, which the designer has hand-picked for each piece. For many indigenous peoples of the North American Southwest, shells carry important symbolism. Coming from water, they stand for a powerful symbol of life.
